Legend of the White Snake Ruan Yun Ting
Stimulating tales, stirring music, soaring vocals and inspiring visual art bring to life excerpts from six classic Chinese legends.

Marvel at the astute ploys of Zhu-ge Liang in The Empty Fort Strategy or Empty City Ruse, share the yearning of Madam Zhang in Dream in the Summer Chambers, applaud the courage of the heroes in The Water Margin, reel with a lonesome Yang Guifei in Yang’s Drunken Stupor, and be moved by the pangs of the sensuous White Snake in The Legend of the White Snake. Performed by Singapore Chinese Orchestra (SCO) featuring the distinguished Beijing opera singers Zhao Qun and Fu Xi Ru, as well as the China Academy of Art, School of Animation Media, be delighted by this interesting mix of traditional Chinese opera music and animation styles that range from traditional ink painting to sand art. Conducted by Maestro Tsung Yeh.

A co-production by Esplanade – Theatre on the Bay and Singapore Chinese Orchestra.
